The lessons just keep on coming and this time it was Kai and I attending to our dental duties. Interesting how children will, in most cases, do things by your example. The comical thing about Kai and I's teeth brushing routine is that I have to sing a song and brush at the same time. You know the song, sing along -
🎶This is the way we brush our teeth, brush our teeth, brush our teeth🎶
This is Master Malakai's trigger to whoop out his electric toothbrush and do the do while dad does the whole manual brushing. Quite a feat but so worth it when I see him enjoy doing such a task. I never knew I could sing and brush my teeth at the same time but hey that's a lesson learnt.
The most important take away though is the aspect of leading by example. If you recall, I mentioned how it's interesting that children will, in most cases, do things by your example. That's something I've quickly realized is the very reason why I need to look to God on how to set the example Kai and Kay need to follow. Their character and growth depends on it.
Note to self: Tinashe if you want Kai to behave, you behave 😁😁😁
To all the folks out there, remember to be the culture, the character, the servant, the love, the courage, the service and the obedience you want to see in your children. Start by brushing your teeth with them, they won't forget it.
